As a lawyer I negotiated countless disputes over many years. I was often part of the confrontational arc of contested cases. The expertise at the table fell victim to the dynamics of the conversation. Many were negotiating to be right, not to succeed.

The unpredictable course and its far-reaching consequences for everyone involved made me increasingly reflective. I saw many bad compromises that turned everyone into a loser. Economic and personal crises that could have been avoided. And people who often felt helpless in the dynamic. The reason is simple: we were never taught how to handle difficult conversations, transform conflicts and use the moment to lead skilfully to the best results.

I went deep into the dynamics of conflict and human decision-making in negotiation. I trained as a commercial mediator and, after many successful proceedings, can say: conflicts are manageable, and skilled negotiation changes everything.

Today I share what I've learned. My aim is to inspire people to see difficult situations as opportunities and to learn how to handle them professionally. On this path we can create a change that transforms how we deal with each other, for good.
